David S. Gilreath, CFP,® Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer

Dave Gilreath, Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer | Sheaff Brock

As a founding principal of Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors, LLC, Dave shares responsibility for setting investment policy, asset allocation, and securities selection for the company's managed accounts. He also consults with the clients of Sheaff Brock on overall portfolio construction.

Dave has 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, beginning with Bache Halsey Stuart Shields and later with Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter. Dave contributes his investment perspectives to a variety of publications, including CNBC.com, HCPLive,® Medical Economics, and Financial Advisor magazine.

He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Dave went on to obtain his Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designation in 1984.

Ron Brock, Managing Director

Ron Brock, Managing Director | Sheaff BrockAs a founding principal of Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors, LLC, Ron shares responsibility for setting investment policy, asset allocation, and securities selection for the company's managed accounts. He also consults with the clients of Sheaff Brock on overall portfolio construction.

Ron has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, starting with Prudential Bache Securities and later with Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter. 

He attended the Indiana University School of Business where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Audrey Bruch, CPA, Chief Compliance Officer/Director of Risk Management and Oversight

Audrey Kurzawa, Chief Compliance Officer/Director of Risk Management and Oversight at Sheaff Brock

Audrey’s experience includes all aspects of accounting, compliance and financial management, having most recently served as chief operating officer for Wallington Asset Management. In her previous role at Winthrop Capital Management, Audrey designed, developed and implemented the firm’s strategic compliance program. Other experience included corporate finance positions at 40|86 Advisors and Conseco, Inc. in the Indianapolis area and KPMG Peat Marwick in Chicago.

Audrey holds a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University, Bloomington. A certified public accountant, she holds a FINRA Series 65 license, is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Brad Stark, Compliance Manager

Brad Stark, Operations Manager at Sheaff Brock

Brad is a seasoned compliance professional, bringing over 20 years of experience in financial trading, research and interpretation of regulations, and operations to his role as Compliance Manager. Most recently, Brad served as Chief Compliance Officer and Relationship Manager at Dinsmore Compliance Services and before that, as Chief Compliance Officer at Bedel Financial Consulting. In these roles, Brad handled all aspects of administering the firms' compliance programs, from onboarding clients and personnel to implementing system edits as regulations changed.

Additional compliance experience includes the roles of Chief Compliance Officer for Graydon Compliance Solutions and Compliance Manager for AIG Advisor Group. Brad also possesses extensive knowledge of the finance industry, having worked as a Senior High Net Worth Specialist for Charles Schwab.

Seth Hickle, Derivatives Portfolio Manager

Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors Seth Hickle, Senior Trader

Seth has many years of experience in commodities futures and options, equity-based derivatives, and high net-worth trading, where he accumulated skills both in working directly with clients and as a manager—assisting and guiding small, dedicated teams in complex trading issues. At Sheaff Brock, Seth manages option overlay strategies and handles day-to-day trading and analysis on the portfolio.

Prior to joining Sheaff Brock, Seth was a Senior High Net Worth Active Trading Specialist at Charles Schwab and a Senior Derivatives Trading Manager at Schwab and optionsXpress. He assisted with the integration of optionsXpress into the Schwab enterprise, as well as the launch of Schwab Futures. Previously, Seth was a Commodity Futures and Options Broker with LaSalle Futures Group in Chicago.

While pursuing his B.S. degree in Finance and Economics at Ball State University, Seth led a student team managing a $500,000 small and large cap equity portfolio for the Ball State University Endowment.

Edward "JR" Humphreys II, CFA, CAIA, Senior Portfolio Manager

JR Humphreys, Senior Portfolio Manager at Sheaff Brock

JR’s experience as a financial consultant spans more than 25 years, and he has worked extensively in alternative asset allocations and the creation of equity selection processes to achieve greater quantitative and more disciplined equity selections. Working much of that time as a portfolio manager at BKD Wealth Advisor, JR previously served as a trust investment officer at United Bank in West Virginia, and as a senior options specialist in the active trader division at Charles Schwab in Indianapolis.

At Sheaff Brock, JR serves as portfolio manager for both the Preferred Income and the REIT investment portfolios, where he is responsible for securities selection, building the portfolios, and trading. He also serves as a member of the Sheaff Brock investment committee, helping analyze its equity portfolios and make strategy recommendations.

JR holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where he was also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society for Economics.

Tom Kaiser, CFA, CPA, Research Analyst & Portfolio Manager

Tom Kaiser, Research Analyst at Sheaff Brock

Tom is a Research Analyst for Sheaff Brock, where he assists with asset allocation and selection for the company’s investment portfolios. He also serves as Portfolio Manager for a Sheaff Brock affiliate company. Prior to joining Sheaff Brock, Tom served as an Investment Research Analyst for 40|86 Advisors in Carmel, Indiana, covering fixed income investments across the credit spectrum. Other experience includes five years with Fitch Ratings, Inc., in Chicago, Illinois, in Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and a year in operations at Northern Trust Corporation, also in Chicago. 

Tom graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with a degree in finance, and he received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) in 2015.

Wally Taggart, Portfolio Manager

Wally Taggart, Portfolio Manager, Sheaff Brock

Wally Taggart began his investment career with Paine Webber in 1963, becoming one of the first brokers in Indianapolis to use options and to become a Registered Options Principal with the CBOE. He spent over 30 years as a broker and in branch management with Paine Webber, Dean Witter, and Morgan Stanley. Wally claims he is most famous for being a successful street racer in his father’s Hudson Hornet—on the west side of Chicago in the mid-fifties!

James "Louie" Humphries, Vice President—Client Solutions, Portfolio Consultant and Derivatives Portfolio Manager

James "Louie" Humphries, Vice President of Client Solutions and Portfolio Consultant at Sheaff Brock

Louie is an experienced financial services professional with an intricate knowledge of options, margin trading—both traditional and portfolio margins—and advanced trading strategies. As a trading and IPO specialist at Charles Schwab & Company, he provided proactive account service to help his clients achieve their financial solutions and retirement goals. Prior experience in retail management developed his focus on strong customer service.

Louie works with Sheaff Brock clients to help them achieve their investment goals, with support from Administrative Coordinator Susan Williams. As Derivatives Portfolio Manager, he is also responsible for options strategy and management and trades for put and index income, while assisting in reporting trades and managing risk on trades for the firm’s separately managed accounts.

Louie received his degree in Public Affairs and his law degree from Indiana University and is a member of the Indiana Bar Association. Teri Kane, Vice President—Client Solutions, Administrative Coordinator

Teri Kane, Vice President of Client Solutions and Administrative Coordinator at Sheaff BrockTeri began her career at Prudential Securities in 1989 and moved to Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter in 1990. Beginning as a registered sales assistant, Teri later moved into the role of account executive, where she gained experience and enjoyment in equity options.

Teri handles the onboarding process of new accounts at Sheaff Brock and maintains the ongoing administrative functions of client accounts for the firm's portfolio consultants.

Jared began his career at Charles Schwab & Co. as a customer service representative and worked as a registered representative before joining Schwab’s leadership as a regional team manager. With experience in supervision, trading, portfolio diversification, and wealth management strategies, Jared strives to support his clients and other professionals in achieving their goals.

Jared attended Midland College in Midland, Texas, and also spent a year traveling in “Up With People,” where he visited more than 13 countries, worked with individuals from over 131 different countries, and developed multi-cultural leadership skills.

Taking care of client needs by providing and delivering professional, high quality service and assistance, Deb McCulley is aware of the power of personal connection, and she uses her skills to stay in close contact with Sheaff Brock clients.

With more than 20 years in the financial services industry, Deb began in operations with E.F. Hutton in Cincinnati, Ohio, and when she relocated to Indianapolis, she applied her skill set at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter as an administrative assistant to the Branch Manager. Deb was also part of the startup team at Star Wealth Management.

Samantha Pezzute, Vice President—Client Solutions, Administrative Coordinator

Samantha Pezzute, Vice President, Client Solutions and Administrative Coordinator at Sheaff BrockSamantha brings over a decade of experience with managing and maintaining client investment accounts to her role on the Client Solutions Team. She is no stranger to assisting clients through all aspects of the investment process and she strives to provide high-quality service for each of her clients.

Prior to joining the Sheaff Brock team, Samantha worked at Northwestern Mutual, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Charles Schwab, where she performed a range of duties, from assisting advisors with client relationships to facilitating accurate account setup.

Outside of work, Samantha often goes to concerts and the theater, both locally and on her travels. In fact, she’s been to almost 100 shows in New York City alone! Jenny has a wide range of administrative support and sales experience within a variety of industries, including serving as branch office administrator for Edward Jones in Jackson, Minnesota. Her prior work experience includes her role as a Public Relations Specialist with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and five years in the elementary education field.

Michelle received a B.S. in Public Relations & Communication from Ball State University and her Elementary Education Certification from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mark Vandygriff, Vice President—Client Solutions, Portfolio Consultant

After gaining lending and banking experience with HSBC, Union Equity Corporation and Homeland Mortgage, Mark worked at Charles Schwab providing investment services, support and guidance to high net worth clients. His in-depth knowledge of investor tools and research allowed him to identify wealth management needs and solutions, and also offer technical analysis and trading guidance, earning several customer service awards.

Mark serves as Portfolio Consultant for Sheaff Brock clients.

Mark spent eight years as a Unit Supply Specialist Reservist with the US Army during and immediately after college. Susan Williams, Vice President—Client Solutions, Administrative Coordinator

Susan Williams, Vice President, Client Solutions and Administrative Coordinator at Sheaff BrockSusan began her career in the financial industry in 1994 with the American Funds (now known as the Capital Group) as a supervisor in their Indianapolis Operations Department. Later working with One America as a Retirement Plans Consultant, Susan then moved to Charles Schwab where, as a client representative, she developed a body of knowledge regarding IRAs, trust accounts and estate resolution.

Susan brings 20-plus years of client service experience to the Sheaff Brock Client Solutions Team and provides administrative support for the portfolio consultants and Sheaff Brock clients.

Christy Jordan, National Business Development Director

Christy Jordan, Senior Vice President—Investments | Sheaff Brock Investment AdvisorsChristy spent the decade of the nineties in Chicago on the sales and marketing side of the mutual fund and managed account industry. She worked with Paine Webber/Mitchell Hutchins, the Munder Funds, and Duff & Phelps before "retiring" to raise a family.

She re-entered the industry with Sheaff Brock in 2010 and leads our national business development efforts.Christy has met with hundreds of Sheaff Brock clients over the last decade to advise and help guide a course towards achieving their investment goals. She enjoys the problem-solving aspect of her job as well as getting to know her client’s stories and families. Christy also is involved in Sheaff Brock’s partner firm as an advisor to other financial professionals.

Christy earned two B.A. degrees from Purdue and attended Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. Peter Bjelopetrovich, Vice President—Business Development

He became part of Schwab’s Active Trader specialty team, servicing their most active traders and developing a deep knowledge of options, margin accounts, and trading. Peter then transitioned to an Associate Financial Consultant role at the branch level in Illinois before joining Sheaff Brock.

After three years with Sheaff Brock, he was recruited to pursue an opportunity with JPMorgan Chase as a Private Client Advisor. After eight months with Chase, Peter decided the grass is not always greener on the other side and we welcomed him back to Sheaff Brock in his current role of Vice President, Business Development. 

Peter earned his degree in Public Relations with a marketing minor from University of Dayton. It was during a bartending stint that he developed a love of craft beers and Irish whiskey. He enjoys wine tasting and sampling beer with his wife, cooking, and spending time with his daughter and two sons. Peter is an avid enthusiast for basketball and anything that is Michael Jordan-related. Jim McMahon, Senior Vice President—Investments

Jim worked for the Indiana Secretary of State in the Securities Division prior to joining Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter in 1986.

While at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter, Jim developed his own successful investment style and philosophy, and went on to achieve the title of Senior Vice-President of Investments. Jim graduated from Manchester College in 1982, where he earned an accounting degree.

Having played golf in high school and college, Jim still loves to play the game. He runs, swims, and waterskis to stay active, and he tracks stats for a local high school basketball team during their season. Tiffany VanHook, Vice President—Wealth Manager

Tiffany is a financial services professional with more than 18 years of experience in relationship management, most recently managing multiple Family Office relationships as a Director at BKD Wealth Advisors. She previously worked as Financial Planner at Linscomb & Williams, and started her career as Senior Counselor at AYCO—a Goldman Sachs Company—where she helped non-retired widows and widowers develop legal and financial restructuring plans.

Tiffany’s experience in retirement and cash flow planning, as well as investment strategies, education funding and insurance/estate planning, provides Sheaff Brock clients with a breadth of financial planning and investment advice. Her financial guidance is coupled with her strong desire to help clients identify and achieve their financial and legacy goals.

Tiffany earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and her law degree from Baylor School of Law in Waco, Texas. She is a retired competitive gymnast, coach and judge. Libby Neidlinger, New Account Specialist

Although fairly new to the investment industry, Libby brings a wealth of experience to Sheaff Brock. Prior to taking a few years “off” to raise a family, Libby spent more than a decade at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in various positions. Most recently, she was the Special Events Coordinator for all facets of events, meetings, seminars and receptions including those surrounding the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, Formula One, and Moto GP races. At Sheaff Brock, Libby is responsible for the handling and processing of all paperwork required to open new customer accounts. She also provides support for the Sheaff Brock sales team.

Angie Reecer, Director of Client Operations

Angie is responsible for overseeing all office functions, reconciliation of accounts, and operations functions. Angie has been involved in the financial services industry for more than 15 years, working in banking, operations with Paine Webber and, most recently, as an administrative assistant with Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter.

Angie spends her free time gardening and working on her hobby farm, which has three miniature donkeys adopted from the Indianapolis Zoo, two pot-bellied pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. Kat Harper, Vice President, Operations

As a client service specialist for Charles Schwab, Kat provided client service and support by uncovering client needs and providing education about accounts, product offerings and procedures. After moving to the estate distributions team, she took on a supervisory role involving quality assurance, training, and cashiering supervision. At Sheaff Brock, Kat is responsible for marketing and operations.

Kat graduated with Honors from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a B.S. in Marketing. While at IU, she was a Kelley Scholar and a member of the Hutton Honors College, and also studied Germanics and Metalsmithing. In her free time, she enjoys practicing Vinyasa yoga and drinking good coffee. This email address is being protected from spambots. Tiffany Kryder, Operations Manager

Tiffany brings almost a decade of experience in the finance industry and operations to her role of Operations Manager. Prior to joining Sheaff Brock, Tiffany worked as Operations Manager at Freedom Mortgage Corporation, where she effectively managed teams with employees located around the world and developed inter-departmental systems that increased the company’s operational efficiency.

Tiffany graduated with her Associate Degree in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. In her spare time, Tiffany loves hiking outdoors, as well as traveling to new countries with her fiancé and two kids. Sheldon Hirst, Controller

Sheldon Hirst, Controller, Sheaff Brock

Sheldon worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for more than 20 years, with eleven of those in public accounting and several more as an independent business owner. Having served as an independent controller and consultant for several small businesses, Sheldon handles the day-to-day financial aspects of business at Sheaff Brock.

Sheldon received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Indiana University School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana. He is a registered tax return preparer and a member of the Indiana CPA Society. Other interests include his work as a board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis and serving as a past president and board member of the Jewish Community Center of Indianapolis.
